SUMMARY

At the direction of the Technical Services Director, the Field Service Technician will be responsible for installation, troubleshooting and repair of Linet products in hospital and healthcare facilities.  He/She will support the sales organization with requested presentations to customer engineering and maintenance personnel.  He/She will plan, supervise and assist on customer installations and conduct technical training classes for Linet authorized service providers (ISO’s).  He/She will be responsible for monitoring ISO and other service activities within their assigned territory for responsiveness and address issues accordingly with the assistance of the Technical Services Director.

   

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Respond and advise Customer and ISO personnel on service requests.
  • Communicate to the Service Coordinator the need for parts and ISO support for customer service calls.
  • Conduct “Tear Downs” at the direction of the Technical Services Director.
  • Provide technical support to all Linet personnel as required.
  • Perform service calls at customer locations as necessary to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Coordinate rental of and driving of vehicles to deliver products to customers within the territory.
  • Commit to excellence and quality with a special focus on rapid response to our customers.
  • Understand the detailed functionality and benefit offering of each product, how each product is best applied to meet emergent customer needs, and benefits the products will provide to both the patient and care givers.                                                                              
  • Assist as needed in managing and coordinating demos, trials, and product delivery.
  • Maintain on-going relationships with customers to ensure maintenance of current base as well as growth of new sales with the healthcare provider.   

                       

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have direct employee supervisory responsibilities; however, a dotted line exists to ISO personnel, as well as to additional direct service technicians added to the organization.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training
  • Advanced electro-mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills
  • Quality Background (5+ years)
  • Experience in driving “C” size trucks

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, federal and other regulatory agencies, as well as sales and service personnel. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and offer appropriate solutions.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee frequently is required to sit and stand.  The employee is regularly required to lift and push hospital beds, parts, boxes and components.  The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment is located at customer locations.

 

TRAVEL

This position requires travel of up to 80% for the purposes of field service work, training, delivery & installation of beds, and occasional trade shows.
